If I was to ask a handful of Call of Duty fans what their favorite Black Ops map was, the majority of them would most likely end up responding with Nuketown. Treyarch originally introduced us to Nuketown in 2010, and it was an enormous success, and after Modern Warfare 3, we were reintroduced to the map in 2012 with Treyarch's Black Ops 2. As of today, Activision has confirmed that a map entitled "Nuk3town" will be free to those who pre-ordered the game for either the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC. Unfortunately, Nuk3town will not be available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Nuk3town will be set in the year 2065. However, after scrutinizing the concept art for a few seconds, it became quite clear that this isn't the Nuketown we all knew and loved. As expected, it looks much more futuristic and advanced, which for me, is an automatic turn off. In a brief statement with Mark Lamia, the Treyarch head, he explained more about the upcoming map. "We carefully adapted the design of the map to make sure that it fit with our new movement system, but to also make sure that we retained the spirit and the fun that made fans fall in love with it in the first place," said Lamia. Here's the concept art that Activision recently shared with the public.
