If you're a fan of the well known IO Interactive creation, Hitman, today is going to be a good day for you, as Agent 47 makes yet another debut. In January of 2014, IO Interactive released a statement saying that they were developing a new addition to the Hitman series. However, we didn't actually get to see any footage, screenshots or gameplay. Just a generalized teaser, if you will, about what we're going to get our hands on once the game is officially announced and released.

Even with the few details released, for those unaware of the new Hitman game, let's dive into it a little. IO Interactive said that we're going to be a "globetrotting Agent 47 at the prime of his career." We will of course be seeing the return of his associate, Diana Burnwood and the ICA. If you're worried about the game not feeling the same because it'll be for next-gen, fear not. IO Interactive stated that they will be sticking to the "core" of the game. Meaning that you'll be able to perform tasks with the same range of tools (and maybe some new ones). Although the game is going to be running on a form of the Glacier 2 engine from Hitman: Absolution, the developers stated that they're "packing in an extreme level of detail on the largest levels we have ever built for a Hitman game. We've adopted an open, non-linear level design approach to the game, ensuring the game will play out across huge, checkpoint-free, sandbox levels," the developer said. "Our aim is to create living, breathing, and believable levels which will allow gamers to play around with the AI to create those unique moments every fan of the Hitman franchise loves."

A fan of the Hitman series asked the official Hitman twitter account when the new game might be shipping out, and he received the following reply:

With the little information at our hands about the still untitled release, they did leave us two bits of information regarding what we can see inside of the actual game (mechanics wise). This being about the Contracts Mode that has been seen in previous Hitman games. For those who don't know what this mode is, it's pretty much a mission creator. Allowing you to conjure up different scenarios to play through.

Any Hitman fans out there? Maybe some of you will be wanting to get into the series now that there is a next-gen game coming out for it? Let us know! I'm sure a lot of you are going to be keeping an eye out for more information regarding the games release. Also, a quick thanks to NixFifty for bringing this topic to our attention.
