As of recently, it certainly seems that Tom Clancy is looking to resurface in a big way throughout the world of gaming. Working alongside a few of Ubisoft’s individual development studios, to present next generation gamers with three new titles. The Division will be a completely new experience to us, while Clancy has also brought back Ghost Recon, along with a long-awaited new installment in the Rainbow Six series. All of which are looking to, and surely will, create a buzz among fans of military-style shooters.
With new information about Rainbow Six and The Division being randomly released to the public, more news about the open-world shooter Ghost Recon Wildlands has been revealed. Looking to break ground in the shooter genre, Wildlands is introducing us to a sandbox world, which is the very first of its kind. As many, if not all other military-style shooters’ storylines have been a stream of mission after mission, only producing a high replay value when you include the multiplayer features. Wildlands will be set in Bolivia, at a time when the country has become the largest producer of cocaine in the world. Able to play alone in single-player, or together with three friends in four-player co-op, gamers will be tasked with bringing down the cartel that has taken over the country.

Ubisoft’s Creative Director Eric Couzian has announced that throughout this massive open-world, we will come across nine completely different environments that will put our tactical instincts to the ultimate test. In an attempt to bring forth an unprecedented universe within Wildlands, the developers have meticulously crafted areas of high mountain tops, vast deserts, as well as remote swamps and jungles. When faced with exploring these environments, players will have to strategically communicate and pinpoint every detail of what is around them, to ensure that the mission at hand is executed properly. There will also be certain technology which will be key to surviving, however, the developers want players to rely much more on their own tactical skills when fully immersed in their surroundings.

Ghost Recon Wildlands will be launching onto the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC sometime in 2016. However, an exact release date has not yet been confirmed.

This game looks incredible but I have a feeling it will be released in late 2016 or pushed back to 2017 which is way too long for me. I hate seeing this trailer now because I'm already excited for The Division and it's so far away. At least Fallout 4 will keep me busy for a long time and I might forget about these games for a while but I can only hope!

Really looking forward to this.. Even if people are calling it Tom Clancy FarCry, that sounds awesome anyways.

I'm pretty hyped for this one as well. If done right, it can break some serious genre boundaries that haven't been tackled before.
