Yesterday, we received a few important details about the Rainbow Six: Siege beta and the final build. First off, during a conference panel at EGX 2015 it was revealed that there will not be an actual single-player story mode in Rainbow Six: Siege and instead, the majority of the game is going to be multiplayer based. We also got information about what resolution the beta is running at on all platforms. According to the games official website, the beta is running at 1080p on PS4, 900p on the Xbox One and depending on your PC and its specs, between 1080p and 720p on PC.

As stated earlier, Rainbow Six: Siege will not have a single-player story mode. The fact that there is no story doesn't mean that there is nothing to do on the single-player side of things. Scott Mitchell, the art director behind Rainbow Six: Siege said that players will have the chance to play through a training session "where you get to experience different operators and their devices". You can also square off against enemy AI as a form of training through a variety of maps and scenarios. Other than that, there isn't a whole lot to do single-player wise.

This definitely isn't the first time we have seen a highly anticipated game skip out on single-player capabilities. We have seen games like Titanfall that focused solely on the multiplayer aspect of the game. The trend to focus more on multiplayer only seems to be gaining popularity due to highly anticipated games like Star Wars: Battlefront skipping over a single-player campaign and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and how it won't support a single-player campaign on last generation consoles.

As I mentioned earlier, the Xbox One seems to be slacking in terms of the resolution it is running the Rainbow Six: Siege beta at. Ubisoft have said that they are still trying to push the limits in terms of hardware and that hopefully things will be looking better for the Xbox One and Rainbow Six: Siege once release day comes around. What do you think? Are you fine with no single-player campaign? Does the 900p resolution on the Xbox One worry you? Leave your thoughts below!
