Nowadays, consoles are no longer just devices to play video games, but a whole entertainment system that allows you to verify your social networks, browse the internet and even watch movies, something that without a doubt makes the experience a unique one.

If this isn't enough, consoles like Microsoft's Xbox wants to monopolize the market further, by launching an app that allows you to listen to your favorite songs via streaming. More like Pandora, iTunes Radio and other apps.

Microsoft recently launched the web version of Xbox Music, their streaming music service that comes to challenge Spotify, Rdio and others. Microsoft offers to play songs anywhere were a web browser is available.

The interface, as told from the users that are already testing it, looks simple at the same time respecting the lines and look of Modern UI interface. Also it has a detail that in Spotify gets blocked: the possibility that an account can play songs in 2 different places simultaneously.

The online version of Xbox Music is now available. For the meantime this is the only way to access the platform without a device with Windows 8, Windows Phone or an Xbox console.

To access Xbox Music online, you will have to point your browser to music.xbox.com and sign in with you Xbox Live account. It works quite similar to the native desktop version, although there are some functions that are still not available. Anyway, the company hasn't made an official announcement about Xbox Music being available on the web, this could indicate that there may be some changes in the near future.

The design is more like the Windows 8.1 app. The controls appear at the bottom of the screen, while on the left you see all the playlists and the search bar.

As we all know, Microsoft likes to charge for everything but their email service, that's why Xbox Music service will have a cost of $9.99 monthly, but you could also acquire a yearly subscription for $99.99. Also, there's a free trial version for 30 days. To acquire the free trial, you will have to fill in payment details and if the trial is not cancelled before the renewal period you will be charged, this is because the service will renew automatically.
