Konami, one of the world's most famous game companies, has begun internal talks about the next Metal Gear title. Reports say that Konami is examining potential ideas for another title in the popular stealth series. Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has not stated whether or not he will be involved with the next title as he is apparently on vacation. Kojima’s name has been taken off Phantoms Pain's box art and will not be included in future art for the series. It appears to be unlikely that Kojima will be working on any Metal Gear title after this. Kojima apparently said his goodbye to the series shortly before he was removed from the box art.

It is unsure if Kojima is actually on vacation or if he indeed left the company. Konami has stated that they will need more money to continue the series and have stated “When we start development, a large-scale investment will become necessary.” Community Manager Graham Day believes that the series can move on without its original creator and the series plans on doing so.

Further information about the game, including a release date, has not been revealed yet because of all this tension within the company. What are your opinions about this? Do you think Konami will be successful if they make a game without the original creator? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
