Benchmarks have been released and previous claims regarding the new iPad Air have been proven to be true, the new iPad Air has a 64-bit A7 chip running at 1.4GHz, scoring 1465 at the single-core tests while the multi-core tests ended up at 2643.

Apple claimed that the iPad Air was going to be twice as fast as the 4th Gen iPad, which isn't far from the truth. The iPad Air's chip is even 100MHz faster than the A7 chip on the iPhone 5s!

John Poole, responsible for the benchmarks, claims that the results are like this because of the bigger battery and the larger chasis which allows the iPad to run cooler than the iPhone 5s, along with other factors. Poole also expects that the new iPad Mini with Retina Display comes with the same chip as the iPad Air, the A7 1.4GHz.

The iPad Air will be available for purchase starting this Friday, November 1.
