With July coming to a close and August approaching fast, Microsoft has revealed its free games for next month. As per usual, there are four free games available during August, as well as one game from last month that will remain available until half-way through the month, that being Tumblestone. As well as the fact that the two free games that will be available on the Xbox 360 will also be available on the Xbox One through backwards compatibility.

The first game available to Xbox One users is Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, which can be downloaded August 1-31. Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is a game that merges the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises, bringing characters from both series together to defeat Orochi, the game's antagonist. Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is usually $59.99, but will be free for the month of August. The second game for Xbox One owners is WWE 2K16, which will be available August 16-September 15. WWE 2K16 is the latest installment in the WWE 2K series, and brings the largest roster in the franchise's history, with over 120 superstars and legends combined.

Xbox 360 gamers will be able to grab Spelunky as the first free game, which will be free August 1-15. It is an indie platformer that allows players to blast through rock to find shortcuts, challenges players to avoid traps, find loot, and defeat enemies. The game usually costs $14.99 on the marketplace, but you can snag it for free this month. The second game for Xbox 360 users is Beyond Good & Evil HD, available August 16-31. Beyond Good & Evil HD puts players in the role of an investigative reporter trying to uncover a sinister government conspiracy. The game is $9.99 retail, but don't forget, both of these games are also available on Xbox One through backwards compatibility.
